If you ask Lars Mogensen, he will tell you that he has the best job in the world – working with the development of young and motivated people. As a dedicated teacher, he follows the principle that qualifications come to those who practice.
Sports that move you – on the outside and the inside
As a teacher since 1993 and vice principal since 2007, Lars is fully dedicated to the vision of Gerlev.
To Lars, sports becomes truly interesting when it includes reflection. His teaching always includes questions that make students think a little extra about what they are doing.
Lars Mogensen is particularly excited about the learning potential that emerges when sports challenges students both physically and mentally. To him, it is all about the small, great moments when the individual student or a team experiences that sports and training can develop you as a human being.
The vice principal of Gerlev is not afraid to share his views on life, sports, young people or the possibilities of the academy.
As a sportsman, Lars Mogensen enjoys participating physically in basketball, beach volley, 1/10 ironman, marathon running, Telemark skiing and sea kayak – with the students and in his leisure time.
Lars Mogensen has a master’s degree in general pedagogy from Aarhus University’s Department of Education (DPU) as well as a diploma degree in Sports from the University of Copenhagen. Additionally, he is a trained physiotherapist from UC School of Physiotherapy in Odense.
Lars Mogensen has also been a basketball teacher at the DGI instructor programs since 1986 as well as sea kayak counselor for The Sea Kayak Council since 2001.
At Gerlev we have gathered some of the country’s best and most engaged teachers.
